Let's start with the low grades. Beasley didn't look good in the first half, plain and simple. However, he did improve in the second half, meriting him the 5.0. Edu had a tough time adjusting to Mexico's pressure, but put in solid work on the defensive end. Dempsey looked like everyone SHOULD have expected him to, which was a player who hasn't been playing and went 90 minutes 4 days ago in a blizzard. Altidore, as usual, received little to no service, but did an alright job holding the ball up until his substitution. Cameron just doesn't seem to look comfortable at RB with the NT. He plays the position regularly for Stoke, but it looks like its foreign to him when he's with the red white and blue. Gomez gets a 6 for his workhorse mentality on the defensive end, after consistently tracking back to help Beas out; same said for Zusi. (Zusi is higher because of his two crucial defensive plays) While Bradley may have lost possession and came close to giving up a penalty, you can't deny how well he kept his composure and passed with accuracy last night. I was not impressed with Besler and to be honest was nervous seeing him in the XI. He eased those fears with great play, combining very well with Gonzalez to stifle Mexico's potent offense. Guzan came up huge when needed. He also did a great job communicating with the back 4 which helped outweigh their lack of chemistry. My MOTM was by far Omar Gonzalez. He looked like a WC vet with the composure in which he stopped Mexico's attack.
