Tim Howard- was the man of the match. He prevented the USMNT from embarrassment by making incredible saves and keeping his team in the game. Fabian Johnson- was able to get down the pitch a couple of times and elude defenders. He could have played a bit better on the defensive end. Carlos Bocanegra- got injured so his rating is incomplete. Geoff Cameron- solidified his status as the best American defender. He held his own against a strong Russian team and should be a regular call-up going forward. Timothy Chandler's play was average at best. Not an impressive return to the national team. Michael Bradley- has once again shown us why he is an integral part of this team. He controls the pace of the game and picks out excellent passes for his team-mates. I'm also impressed with his defending ability, he dispossessed Russian attacks time after time in dangerous situations. Danny Williams' blunder in the first half led to the first Russian goal. He just didn't look comfortable out there today. Jermaine Jones- I was surprised that Jermaine didn't pick up a card today. He played well defensively, and was able to challenge and apply pressure on the Russian defense. Herculez Gomez- was probably still jet-lagged from the long flight. Not one of his better performances. Jozy Altidore- It was great seeing Jozy return to the national team, and he made a couple of great plays. However, he really needs to work on his first touch if he wants to elevate his game to the next level. Josh Gatt- It wasn't a bad first national team start for the speedster from Molde. He made some dangerous runs but couldn't complete plays on several occasions. Sacha Kljestan- didn't have a good game. Seemed absent for long stretches of the game. Maurice Edu- changed the dynamic of the game and disrupted the Russian's flow. Hope he can get some more playing time with Stoke. Juan Agudelo- was very active and headed down the ball for Bradley's great goal. Clarence Goodson- played horrible. Looked shaky on several occasions, and committed the foul that led to the penalty. He's just not strong or quick enough to play as a center back. This was probably his last call-up for the national team. Mix Diskerud- got the USMNT a result with a great goal in injury time. I expect Klinsmann to take a closer look and give him more call-ups in the future. Terrence Boyd- is beginning to have a reputation of providing key assists in closing moments. Headed the ball to Diskerud for the tying goal. Jurgen Klinsmann- should be satisfied with this result but not content. Going into Russia and getting a tie is great, but the defense really has to be addressed. John Anthony Brooks, Omar Gonzalez, and Seb Hines should be called up and evaluated.
