There was much more bad than good on display this match. Tunstall seemed uncharacteristically generous with some of his ratings, in my opinion. Most of the US starters had a nice moment or two, but there was a lack of consistency, and overall, the bad far outweighed the good. Guzan gets credit for active keeping and some nice saves. Dempsey scored the goals and had little other impact, and Bradley took set pieces well, despite a lack of created chances from the run of play. The backline looked shaky, especially the CB pairing, with Alvarado getting roasted multiple times. Brooks lost his cool frequently in the first half; the card was only a matter of time. Both he and Alvarado looked much more comfortable dealing with aerial threats than Hondurans running at them with the ball at their feet. Yedlin and Chandler were somewhat uncoordinated on the right, and Zardes and Johnson were often caught far upfield on the left. Bedoya or Zusi might have been a safer choice to offer Johnson more coverage as he ventures forward. Beckerman seemed a step off for much of the first half but didn't commit any egregious mistakes. Altidore's touch was poor and his effort nonexistent at times. Subs were inconsequential.
