  • The United States U-23s defeated Mexico 3-0 in Carson, Calif. behind goals from Mario Rodriguez, Christian Dean and Jordan Morris. Read ASN's full interview with coach Andi Herzog. Highlights:


  • In Mexico City, the Montreal Impact pulled off a 1-1 draw with Club America in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League final. The Impact led for more than 70 minutes following Ignacio Piatti's goal in the 16th minute, but Oribe Peralta equalized in the 89th minute off a corner kick. Highlights (with dramatic music):


  • The U.S. women's home kits for the World Cup were unveiled Wednesday and they are ... something. Nike says the "Blue Lagoon" colored cleats are a nod to the lakes of Canada. Fans are justifiably skeptical since there's no traces of anything American. But a Nike VP has a comeback! “Not every team pays homage to the flag,” he said. “Take Germany’s kit for example, world champions." Yeah? I see red and black.
  • As the technical director for Atlanta's new MLS club, Carlos Bocanegra is set to play a large part in building a winning culture. He spoke to ASN's Brian Sciaretta.
