Johannsson is not a true target man as a striker, so this set-up would allow Dempsey to share some of the responsibilities. Johannsson is a better finisher in the air so would stay more central and up top, Dempsey would play a little behind in build-up. Zusi provides more width than Bedoya (who also struggled with fitness last game) and could provide some quality crosses. Bradley to go back to his more traditional central midfield role were he has thrived. Lastly, swapping out Beasley, who looked out-paced and kind of lost against Ghana, for Chandler, who has experience in a top flight league as a fullback and can hopefully do a better job against Ronaldo.
