Trying to work within Jurgen's framework, dual strikers with Altidore and Johansson up top at Brazil seems possible, so this team works to simulate that. While Johnson plays a good Altidore role, Wondo is less convincing as Johansson. Basically, this would be his last shot to prove he should go to Brazil, even if it is just as a sub. Midfielders would likely work in a diamond formation, so I would see Gil working essentially in the No. 10 role, and Beckerman sitting a little deeper. Magee and Donovan make for effective raiders in the wings. If I were Jurgen, I'd be most concerned about the back line, so I'd want to get as much consistency in playing time as possible. Besler-Gonzalez with Evans at RB are as good a pairing as any we can produce, and Yedlin is given a chance to shine on a world stage along with fellow young blood Gil. Finally, Johnson makes the cut for my keeper simply because I want to test as many of the youngsters as I can. Rimando and Hall are known quantities, and Keeper is a role that we need to start looking at for a future without the incredible Tim Howard and Brad Guzan. Johnson wins the start over Hamid just by a hair because I think Johnson has a higher growth ceiling.
