I think JK wants to see how a largely European team will do. H's recently noted F. Johnson and Bradley's return to form, needs to find out what Dempsey has, wants to get Johannsson in the mix, and ( I'm guessing) wants to find out if Chandler is a possibility. Johannsson's arrival can move F. Johnson back (although JK does greatly respect Beasley).
