This is actually more a hybrid 4-1-4-1 and 4-3-3. When they defend, they'll be in a 4-1-4-1 formation with Williams dropping in between the midfield and defense. When they attack, they'll be in a 4-3-3 when they attack with Donovan and Dempsey pushing up high and wide.
