Forwards: Donovan and Dempsey are the only true goal scorers we have. I like Altidore, Boyd, some young players, but they aren't ready yet. Gomez is good, but getting older, and doesn't score enough. They aren't really forwards, they are middies, but imagine defenses playing both of them in the final third. Midfield: Gatt is incredibly fast, agile, settled in Europe. He'll be in the top team in time. Williams is a Klinsmann favorite, Bradley a no-brainer, Zusi plays on the right for KC and is doing well for the US team now. Defense: Beasley surprised me against Mexico, but shows the biggest US weakness at any level, DEPTH. For now he's there. Besler and Gonzalez shined against Mexico, they played great together. Johnson is good on the ball, has to stay healthy. Keeper: Flip a coin between Howard and Guzan, they're both great. And Freidel could probably still perform in a pinch.
