My team right now for the 2014 World Cup, following the past week's qualifiers:
I prefer a 4-4-2, since Gomez is better up front than on the wing and Altidore performs better for the U.S. with somebody by his side. Altidore is the target man while Gomez makes runs.
Donovan and Dempsey have license to switch spots or drift inside so that Chandler and Johnson can overlap.
Jones and Bradley are box-to-box midfielders and tasked with distribution. Cameron and Gonzalez can both play balls out of the back.
