The defense, from goalkeeper to backline, practically picks itself. Danny Williams is less of a discipline concern and has shown he can handle the #6 role for Klinsmann. Donovan is back in, providing the heady possibility of combining with Johnson up the flank, while Graham Zusi gets the nod in the middle thanks to his passing and dead ball talents. With Gomez up top due to his workrate (which should help provide Altidore with space), Dempsey slides into the midfield.
