I would prefer a 4-3-1-2 but since that was not an option, I chose the best available formation. Starting from the back: Goalkeeper: Howard is obviously our #1 keeper. Defenders: Boca and Dolo are aged, but as we saw against Jamaica, Dolo doesn't seem to have lost any of his speed going forward and made some sound tackles as well. And Boca is still the veteran general of this back 4. Johnson is a speedy, attacking left back which fits perfectly into Jurgen's gameplan and Geoff is a big, physical centerback with the touch and control of a midfielder. Midfielders: Donovan on the right flank and Brek on the left. Bradley distributing and kickstarting counters. Williams over Jones/Beckerman/Edu because even though he isn't as experienced, Danny is a more accurate passer after winning the ball in the defensive 3rd. I'd rather see him as the outside left member of the "3" in a 4-3-1-2, but this must suffice. Forwards: I'd prefer Dempsey as the "1" in the 4-3-1-2 because Clint seems more comfortable running into/around the box and receiving the ball as opposed to being played the ball and holding it for his fellow attackers. But as is, Clint and Jozy (whose red hot scoring streak for his club must translate to the national team eventually, right?) up top.
