Guzan is the more consistent keeper than Howard. So far this EPL season he has been the better keeper. Strong experienced central backs with Bocanegra and Onyewu can allow defensive mids Bradley and Jones to push up into offensive roles. Castillo and Cherundolo at wings on defense are responsible enough to hold defensive duties to allow wingers on offense to stay in position for counter attacks. Altidore and Donovan as wingers are speedy for counter attacks and are more effective coming from the wings. Boyd is good for posting up from balls coming from the back or wings. He is skilled enough on the foot to drop down when necessary.
