Our strikers are not dominant enough for a lone forward system. It leaves our attack too anemic. Donovan has always played better as a second striker, as he is doing for the Galaxy now. So pair him up top with Altidore. Dempsey and Shea on the wings have the ability to bomb in from the sides, bringing speed and creativity to the attack. Bradley is an all around midfielder who can act as a playmaker feeding the ball or drive a long shot in himself. Jones is more of an enforcer so he can stay back to spearhead the defense and support the attack. We need four defenders back to absorb pressure. Johnson and Cherundolo can still get up the wings to support the attack if needed. Goodson has the height and Boca the strength to provide the wall at the back. Howard in goal is just a given.
