Luis Gonzalez
about 12 years
GK Howard is the safest bet on goal. Experience, leadership and character. LB Carlos Bocanegra fast enough to keep up with fast pace wingers yet strong enough to wrestle down big athletic strikers. CB Omar Gonzalez biggest strenght is well his strenght in the air. Although he lacks elite speed he can keep up and provide balance in the back line. CB Oguchi Onyewu fast, strong and he is technically sound rarely makes any mistakes with the ball. World cup and european experience including champions league. A force to rekon with. RB Edgar Castillo a player that has excelled in a technically gifted mexican league. He has the ability to go foward and provide help to the midfielders. DM Jermaine Jones a work horse that is a box to box player. He can do provide possession and workds hard to recover 50/50 balls in the middle. DM Michael Bradley a bring your luch pale to work kind of guy. Has a motor that never stops. Techinically gifted reminds me of Fernando Redondo. The closest to a techinically perfect player that I have seen in recent years. Can go and play a more offensive role and can adjust to any situational circumnstance. LAM Landon Donovan- Enough speed to play wide. His competative edge separates him from the rest. His ability to create in space and his finishing touch makes him an offensive threat. Making play on the left flank allows him to be more dominant his right foot. Although he is techinically decent in using his left foot. CAM Clint Dempsey the playmaker a player that marks a differance with his ability. He is at another level his understanding of the game overwhelms the opposoition. RAM Diskerud This is the only player im not so sure about. Very capable player yet unproven. The weight of the national team jersey might or might not be too much for him. He has the skill set to compliment Donovan and Dempsey. I would also consider Maurice Edu although he is more of a defensive midfielder. Diskerud is a polyfunctional player that attacks and defends extremely well. ST Yozi Altidore typical striker with great speed and finishing ability. He can muscle his way through defenses. More than his ability to score goals is his ability to ware defensive players down. Opening a spot for a reserve player with a killer instinct to join in the second half.
