It's more of a 4-1-2-3 than anything else. Gatt and Johnson are playing as true wingers providing width and getting up and down the touchline, Williams is playing as a true defensive mid and Kljestan and Bradley and sitting in front of Williams as center mids. I like Edu at centerback (at least more so than our other options) because he's athletic and plays so much better with the game in front of him (he's terrible in midfield). Lichaj gets the start at left back because it allows Johnson to play left mid, where I think he's incredibly dangerous going forward (and if you can play in the EPL, you can play for the US national team, come on Klinnsmann). I think Bradley is the obvious (and best) choice as captain. Donovan and Dempsey aren't a part of my team. Donovan's performances have been less than impressive in MLS lately and really I have serious doubts about his drive, he's always been kind of a head case. Dropping him was an easy choice considering Gatt is a way more exciting prospect as an attacking winger (sooo fast, even with the ball, just needs to smooth some of the rough edges). Dempsey doesn't really have a true position, he isn't a forward, he isn't a play maker, he isn't a winger and he's not good enough or consistent enough to build a team around, so I don't include him. I understand dropping Dempsey and Donovan is probably controversial, but it's my team! :)
