Well for the recent call up, If I were to stitch up a team for a forthcoming friendly, I'd start along the lines of this. Attacking style 4-3-3. 2 Solid CB's, though I would prefer as they grow they are mixed CB/CDM roles ala Mascherano/Song. Gatt is fast, and his wing play should be fully utilized, his defensive play was surprisingly good during the Russia friendly. If given a free Asamoah/Alves role i think he would tear up that right side, linking up with guys who are smart with the best distribution. Zusi/Diskerud seem to have the foresight for one-twos and a penetrating passing game. Beitashour is mostly around because Fabian isn't available, (Same sort of driven role, that's why I have beckerman playing a deep role, he is a bit sloppy, but he can win the ball). If Alonso was available for picking He'd play that deep role. David is just too good at times, vision and crisp placement. Agudelo is on the left my default. He is good but I'd take Gordan and Pontius any day. Bruin can put the ball in the back of the net, and he keeps on getting better. Jack Mc. Union's #10 needs some serious contention notice though. Hamid is my bet on our next full time keeper. S. Johnson broke my Olympic heart. This of course is a motley crew and does not necessarily reflect my overall vision for the USMNT. I expect to see Zusi, Mix and Gatt becoming integral in the near future. CB is open because the options are really gaining momentum. I expect to hear the names Gyasi Zardes (LAG homegrown) and DeAndre Yedlin (SEA homegrown) very soon. These kids are the next generation. A bit younger than our typical COLLEGE DRAFT PICKS. Goodness i love the USMNT.
