Joshua Brigman
almost 12 years
The player up front was the toughest decision. It was either going to be Jozy, Herc, or Boyd. I would Have Dempsey slightly more advanced in this setup than Zusi or Donovan, but I wouldn't really call it a 4-4-2. Zusi is kind of a surprise for me. I originally had Davis in his postion, but I ended up going for a little bit of youth once I saw Dempsey and Donovan beside him. It is hard to believe McCarty once captained our national team, and now he can't even get a look into the side. He just had his second best professional season, and I think he will have his best in 2013. Bradley, if his demeanor really has matured, will likely be our next captain in Brazil. That is, if Landon isn't there. I have no reason to believe he will pass that 4th World Cup up. On the backline I went with youth, but there is a lot of club experience back there. Cameron and Gonzalez is the pairing every American fan is waiting for. Parkhurst and Johnson have proven to be threats at a high level. Once we get our center back pairing, our backline will start to look very good. Howard isn't haven't his best season, but Everton is. I think he will soon refind his form. I am sure he will be our number 1 in 2014.
