There has been no one better at top striker than Gomez and to give Altidore the nod is ridiculous, especially when he was dropped by JK for games (IMPORTANT games). Eddie Johnson came in for 2 games and scored 2 times (could/should have been 4 times). Dempsey has been Mr. Dependable for us as has Jermaine Jones (regardless if you don't love him... find article on JK about Jermaine Jones by Steve Davis and you'll understand). He's the mean guy on the team that will do whatever it takes to win like Bill Laimbeer or Randy White. I LIKE that. Edu throughout 2012 was good and played more than a Zusi or even Altidore. Bradley is solid as is Fabian Johnson, Cherundolo, Boca, and Howard. Cameron is only improving at this point.
This is not the popular vote that I'm posting, however, I feels its the players that put in the work in 2012 and was there EVERY game or almost every game. Adding a Zusi who had 1.5 good games or Chandler for 1 game should not even be considered. EJ can be argued but name me someone else that did more in a 2 game WC qualifiers? Exactly, no one!
