This formation puts our best players on the field and also puts them in position to succeed. Jozy gets to play with a partner up top. Nagbe and Pulisic are given space to link the atk with overlapping wingbacks, or to take on defenders 1v1 when we switch the attack. Bradly has cover with 3 center backs, and this allows us to have both nagbe and johnson on the left side where they are most comfortable. I also like it because Brooks and Zedlin can slide right into this lineup, and its versatile. You could always slide zusi up into a 442 diamond with pulisic at the 10, you could sub on dempsy for a center back if we need a goal, or you could take off jozy for mccarthy to see a game out.
