Goalkeeper I think this has the least amount of debate. Guzan gets the nod on 10/10 because he has preformed well for club and country Defense Obviously the defensive back 4 test has come up to be down right embarrassing. The constant tinkering and inconsistency have left the USMNT defense in shambles for far to long. Going into a seemingly must win game against Mexico I think you must go with a workman style back line. No glam or showmanship just straight workhorses that are proven. Starting with a quality CB pairing in the constant professionals Ream and Cameron. Ream offers a player who will do the deed and will constantly be in position and not ball watching as a CB which he has proven for Bolton and now for Fulham in the Championship. Cameron is in this same mold, he finally got the nod at CB for Stoke and has preformed well in the top flight so why not make him your first choice CB. Johnson gives you quality and blazing speed on the wings (if unhealthy bump Ream to LB and move Besler into the CB) this addition allows you to have an offensive threat on the back line that will also preform his job, this also opens up a midfield spot maximizing the talent that will be on the field. Finally Lichaj should be the only choice for RB, rejected time and time again by JK for other failed players on the right side the time has come to give him a nod. At this point it can't hurt JK to give him a shot and see what turns out, Lichaj more than deserves the call-up based on his performances at NF Midfield Williams is the clear cut destroyer, he offers cover for the back while providing the athleticism to keep up with good players and he always has the potential to produce a real stunner. Zardes,Bradley, and Lletget Speed, Creativity, Fluidity are the keys to this part of the midfield. Yedlin clearly isn't developed enough to be a wing starter so Lletget should be rolled out for his debut after seeing what he is doing for LA along with Zardes down the other wing to provide constant attacking pace and creativity along with quality balls into the box. With Bradley as the cornerstone of the attack hopefully the form will be there for all three and the attack will be fluid producing plentiful opportunities and possession that has plagued the USMNT Attackers Ride the Dempsey wave until you can't anymore not much else with that. Wooten should see the start here based on form along with every other USMNT striker doing nothing to earn it. Wooten has been in great form for his club in Germany and this should earn him a roll out. Altidore, AJ, and Wondo have all failed whether it has been missed chances, lack of consistency or really just not talented enough for the stage when their name has been called on. Wooten while untested on the International stage should see the start because honestly at this point why not? None of the other options have produced what is needed so why not try an in-form striker? At this point what does JK have to lose?
