This is our last game to evaluate players before the Gold Cup, so I am willing to experiment a little. Johannsson hasn't quite clicked for the USMNT yet, but he has too much potential as a goal scorer to bench. Wood's off the ball movement against the Netherlands was brilliant, and he oozed confidence. Zardes had his best game yet for the USMNT and looked more comfortable on the left than on the right. Diskerud was more tenacious than Morales (a player I rate highly) and deserves the start. Williams injected energy into the midfield which Beckerman did not (plus Beckerman is a known talent for us at this point). Johnson I thought provided some valuable defense vs Netherlands when moved to LB. Due to the limited CB options, I would stick with the young tandem to get some more experience. Chandler I trust more than Yedlin defensively, and I do not know if Yedlin would be as effective in a full 90 as compared to when he is used as an impact sub. Klinsmann clearly plans to start Guzan for the Gold Cup, and he needs as many minutes he can get since losing the starting spot at Aston Villa.
