Well, since Jurgen didn't listen to my suggestion to go with all kids, the US might as well try and win this game.
There are no left backs so a 4-4-2 is out and a 3-5-2 with JJ in the middle of the backline might best take advantage of his strengths and allow him to clean up behind the sweepers. Also eliminated the need for fullbacks, since Yedlin's the only one there.
Yedlin, of course, can also play MF and a wife role in a 5-man group fits his skill-set well. Zardes has played some left mid for LA and while this will ask a lot of him defensively, he can do it and it gets his athleticism on the field.
Nguyen is the most creative American mid and he flourished in a 5-man MF in NE. Put Bradley behind him and let Kitchen do the gruntwork he's so good at.
For better or worse, Jozy and Deuce are the forwards till someone steps up and shows otherwise.
