Jones can't be trusted to mark people in the box anymore and his instincts to bomb forward are too much for him to control. That being said, at his best, he is arguably our best player so he gets the benefit of the doubt after one match. Nguyen can still show creativity and he deserves another shot. Given this particular player pool, Birnbaum would be the next best CB given showing and selection so he would get the nod alongside Besler. What sucks is the lack of Left Back's so Shea is there by default, although in a perfect world, it's Greg Garza.
The back line is always consistently a problem and I don't think that a 3-5-2 is a solution.
