I have rated Nguyen for a long time and built the attack around him starting. He works well with Charlie Davies doing the dirty work up top and not scoring goals, so it's a great fit for Jose.
As for people on either side of him, I think there are a lot of decent options, many on the younger side who need some games. But, it's a younger player's position and requires covering a lot of ground if the back four can't keep a high line; so, they may as well start playing now. Could have slotted Green in there, but I was more interested in seeing Rubin. Garza and Johnson are solid enough that I don't see the need to play a more defensive minded option like Bedoya. Might as well give Ibarra a run out later in the game as well.
Mix likes to play deeper so that spot works for him and while Jones makes sense next to him, it's not a long term option. So, that leaves Cameron.
Nothing out of the ordinary in the back four.
