The US Team should play in 4-3-2-1 formation because is the best formation to play offensively and defensively at the same time. The absense of Landon Donovan is plainly foolish.
Altidore must be the sole point of attack at the front because of the weaknesses in the defense. The midfield must be anchored by Jermaine Jones, one of the most solid defending midfielders in football today. Mr. Klinsmann is right. Michael Bradley, a great midfielder, should be play up front given his creative, vision of the game, and ability to score from long rane. Dempsey is just Dempsey always threating and very umpredictable. The midfielders and the defensive backs must be able to relieve each other whenever necessary ('sacrifice themselves for the team and not root themselves to one position). Tim Howard is a superb goalkeeper. He just need more protection. On corners always have 2 defenders at the net. Never leave an opponent alone in front of your goalie. Add Donovan to the roster. And you have strong team that can reach the last 8 at the World Cup and future World Champion team in the making. The US Team has come of age. Klinsmann must step and become a strong visionary coach, instead of a guesser.
