I think JK is playing mind games with upcoming opponents. I believe he comes out in this formation with an eye of morphing it into a diamond. If both LM and RM communicates well with backs it can help with overall shape and coverage. In this formation, I wouldn't be surprised to see AJ in for Bedoya as well. could leave tons of space on the left though.
