Never in a million years would this lineup happen but my reasoning for each player is this (Azerbaijan being our first game and an extremely weak opponent plays a large part in these selections):
Altidore - Confidence boost
Johannsson - What can he do if he's given 90 minutes?
Bedoya - Can he play the left wing position?
Jones/Diskerud - Can Mix consistently break down a team for 90 minutes and can Jones stay disciplined behind him?
Green/Yedlin/Brooks - Show they're ready for World Cup opposition by minimizing mistakes and showing off their strengths.
Johnson/Cameron - Give them experience playing in the positions I hope they play in at the World Cup but haven't been at with their clubs.
Guzan - He deserves at least one game, right?
