I think that this is a perfect opportunity for some of the younger guys to show their stuff.
As much as I love Rimando, I'd love to see Hamid or Johnson get the start. I personally think that if Hamid can work the kinks out, he can become another classic US goalkeeper.
I'd like DeAndre Yedlin to get a start, he's been an absolute monster for the Sounders and to see him shine in such a game would really be a confidence boost for him and would maybe attract some scouts from Europe. Gonzalez and Belser work great together, I don't think I have to go deeper into this. I'm actually surprised to see how well Beasley has been playing as a wingback for the US. If he can put on another great performance, I think that him and Yedlin driving the ball up from the wing and putting some crosses and passes in will give the US a huge advantage.
Michael Bradley always gets the nod in my book, no question about it. As for his partner, I think that Maurice Edu deserves the start. He was really screwed over during the 2010 World Cup run when Bob Bradley kept playing favorites with Ricardo Clarke and his luck got even worse when Jermaine Jones came into the picture.
Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey, again, no question about it. Next!
I was torn on whether I should put in Green or Zusi, but I had to go with the new guy. I'd like to see him get his feet wet and see if he can live up to all of this talk. Worse comes to worse, we can put Zusi in during the second half.
I like Eddie Johnson up front, I think that just his presence (along with Donovan's) can bring back some bad memories for the Mexican defense... Not to mention, when he's on his game, he can do some damage!
