The five national teams the U.S. faces during the Hexagonal round of World Cup qualifying include players who play outside CONCACAF. You know how the Americans fared abroad each week, but what about the players they’ll be facing? We’ll keep you updated on their progress each week. Also, don’t forget to check out our section dedicated to all things Hex.

We’ll focus first on the United States’ next Hex opponents:

Costa Rica
Joel Campbell started and had an assist in 64 minutes of play. His Real Betis team beat Osasuna 2-1 Friday.
Betis 2 Osasuna 1 by acosart Bryan Ruiz and Fulham did not play because Fulham’s opponent, Chelsea, played a FA Cup match.

Bryan Oviedo was not in the Everton team that lost to Wigan, 3-0.

Christian Bolaños started and went 86 minutes for FC Copenhagen in its 3-0 win over Silkeborg.

Goalkeeper Keylor Navas made the bench for Levante.

Mexico
Chicharito scored a lovely opening goal for Manchester United, but it didn’t stand up and the team drew 2-2. Hernández came out in the 63rd minute. The incredible run of fantastic matches Carlos Vela turned in is over. The forward struggled against Atletico Madrid and was subbed out in the 82nd minute of Real Sociedad’s 1-0 victory. He got a yellow card in the 11th minute.

Strange match for Gio dos Santos and Mallorca. The team took a 2-1 victory against Sevilla but things devolved at the end. Dos Santos came out in the 90th minute and Mallorca went down to 10 men in stoppage time just after. Gio had several shots in the match and also picked up a yellow card in the 72nd minute.

Hector Moreno had a good day, but Espanyol did not, losing 2-0. Moreno made a crucial block near the goal line and was perhaps the best defender for the Catalans.

Andres Guardado missed Valencia’s loss to Athletic Bilbao because of yellow card accumulation.

Ajaccio bounced back from a 2-match losing streak by beating Loriente, 1-0. Guillermo Ochoa had five saves.

Javier Aquino went the full 90 for the first time as a Villarreal player and the Spanish second division side picked up a 2-1 win thanks to a stoppage time goal.

Jamaica
Reading trio Adrian Mariappa, Jobi McAnuff and Garath McCleary lost to Aston Villa, 2-1. Mariappa went 90 minutes, as did McAnuff who was booked in the 87th. McCleary came on to give the attack a jolt in the 55th but wasn’t able to help.

Nyron Nosworthy did his normal full shift for Watford in a 2-1 loss to Blackpool.

Omar Daley didn’t play for Motherwell.

Theo Robinson and Ricardo Fuller both started but were substituted for their respective clubs. Fuller got the last laugh with Charlton Athletic beating Huddersfield Town, 1-0.

Marvin Elliott’s went the full 90 and Bristol City beat Middlesbrough.

Rodolph Austin made his first appearance for Leeds in a month and played two minutes in a 2-2 draw for Leeds against Crystal Palace.

Marlon King is out for the season.

Panama: Román Torres made his return to Copa Libertadores after being suspended for the previous match. Torres went the full 90 at center back and picked up a yellow card in Millonarios’ 2-1 win against San Jose. He was rested two days later in the club’s league victory.

Gabriel Gomez went the full 90 for Junior in a 1-1 draw against Atlético Huila.

Armando Cooper wasn’t in the side for Godoy Cruz.

Yairo Yau again missed the match-day squad for Sydney FC.

Luis Henríquez was not in the Lech Poznan team.

Honduras
Maynor Figueroa has been in rare scoring form lately for Wigan. The left back/center back headed in a corner for the first goal played the whole 3-0 win against Everton in FA Cup action. Roger Espinoza was not in the squad.

Celtic had a bad week, with Emilio Izaguirre going the full 90 and getting a yellow card in the Bhoys’ 2-0 Champions League loss at Juventus. He got a rest Saturday, but Celtic’s second side dropped a result at Ross County.

Carlo Costly didn’t score but got a yellow card in Veriea’s 0-0 draw against OFI.

Another week, another full 90, and another yellow card for Osmán Chavez. Wisla Krakow won 2-1.

Jorge Claros went the full match for Hibernian in a scoreless draw with Hearts.

Luis Garrido didn’t appear for Red Star Belgrade.

Still no Wilson Palacios for Stoke. Andy Najar is injured but was highlighted for some humanitarian work with Anderlecht.

Whose performance strikes the most fear in your heart? Have we missed any players who you think should be in the U.S.’ game tape rotation? Any information you’d like to see in future editions? Let us know in the comments section.
