YOU'VE HAD TO WAIT nearly a week for another U.S. match, and it’s
almost here. It’s not quite kickoff time (unless you’re reading the
archive of this piece), so there’s still time to kill—and fun to be
had with DraftStreet.
DraftStreet is hosting one-day fantasy contests where you can win cash
on every match day during the tournament. The entry fees range from
completely free to hundreds of dollars, and you can play in head-to-head leagues or up against thousands of other World Cup fans. You can
play in Salary Cap style leagues, or Pick 'em leagues. It’s all
leading up to their massive $100,000 contest on June 26th where the
winner will take home the $20,000 first place prize. You can learn
more about that here.

Last time the United States played, we discussed picking not just with
your heart but also using your head. Sure, you want to show off how
much you love the U S of A, but you also want to win a few bucks so
you can stimulate the economy. You’re not going to do that if
you simply pick eight U.S. players—no matter how badly the U.S.
thrashes Portugal.
With that said, there are still good buys to be had from the American
team—and some pretty bad ones for Portugal.
