SATURDAY
New York Red Bulls vs. Real Salt Lake
7 p.m. (all times Eastern)
MLS Live
The Red Bulls enter Week 22 five points behind Real Salt Lake for the top spot in the Supporters’ Shield standings. RSL’s eight-game unbeaten streak ended after a controversial 2-1 loss to Sporting Kansas City in Week 21. The Red Bulls also failed to impress with a scoreless draw against Toronto FC. Both will look to rebound at Red Bull Arena this Saturday.
Colorado Rapids vs. Los Angeles Galaxy
7 p.m.
ESPN 2
After an illustrious 12-year run with the Rapids, Pablo Mastroeni was traded to the Galaxy for an international roster slot and a second-round pick in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft. Now, for the first time in his career, the 36-year-old midfielder returns to Colorado as the enemy. With three important points on the line, how will the fans at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park receive their former captain?
Houston Dynamo vs. Chicago Fire
9 p.m.
NBC Sports Network
While the American soccer community descends on the Windy City, the Fire travel to Houston to take on a Dynamo squad that is five points ahead of them in the standings. If you need a reason to watch, consider this: Magic Mike Magee is scheduled to play.
SUNDAY
United States vs. Panama
4 p.m.
FOX, Univision
The task: Eliminate Panama from the Gold Cup for a fifth consecutive time. The prize: Lifting the nation’s first Gold Cup trophy since 2007—and half a ticket to the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia. We’ll be watching...and so will Mexico.
Sky Blue FC vs. FC Kansas City
6:00 p.m.
YouTube
The top two teams in the NWSL will do battle this Sunday. FC Kansas City took hold of the top spot with a 3-0 victory over the Boston Breakers on Wednesday. Sky Blue FC sits just one point back with five matches to go. Much like the 2-2 draw on June 26, expect another highly contested match between these two NWSL powers.
BEST OF THE REST
MLS: Vancouver Whitecaps vs. Philadelphia Union (7 p.m., Saturday, MLS Live)—The Union have failed to impress on the road this season. The Whitecaps remain unblemished at home. Look for those trends to continue in Week 22.
NO U.S. ANGLE BUT...
German SuperCup: Bayern Munich vs. Borussia Dortmund (2 p.m., Saturday, GolTV)—Early bragging rights are up for grabs in this preseason clash of German juggernauts.
