Chris Wondolowski moved within one goal of tying Roy Lassiter's single-season record. The San Jose forward headed home a ball in the 26th minute of the 2-2 draw with the Los Angeles Galaxy. Lassiter, for his part, would be okay with his record getting broken.
Meanwhile, Omar Gonzalez doesn't appreciate the Quakes style. “I think those guys are a bunch of jokes, the way they play the game. It was just obnoxious. And, you know, it wasn't even fun out there. It was terrible," he told MLSSoccer.com. “It all starts when the ball's on the other side of the field, and you're just running and all of a sudden you get blindsided. You just get checked by Lenhart or something. It's just dumb [expletive] like that happens every time, and that's not the way the game should be played. It's embarrassing.”
Tim Howard's excellent performance against Queens Park Rangers earned the goalkeeper a spot on at least one English Premier League team of the week (alongside defender Phil Jagielka). Everton, somehow, remains near the top of the EPL table.
Zak Whitbread earned a start in Leicester City's 1-1 draw with Birmingham. He didn't seem to have much impact on the game, which is good when you're a center back.
We missed this last week, but Oguchi Onyewu is training with the first team at Malaga and scoring goals.
