  • Zdravstvujtye! ASN is in Russia for Wednesday's friendly with, well, Russia. In case you missed our coverage so far, here's Jozy Altidore talking about his return to the team and some comments from Altidore and Tim Howard about the state of the USMNT in 2012 and the transition under coach Jurgen Klinsmann. Plus: photos because we know that's what ya'll really want.

  • U.S. Soccer goes to the Netherlands and hangs out with Altidore, who said this: "I got a complete old city here. Bells. The cafe scene. I think I like it. It's comfortable. It's fun. It's peaceful. I think it's the perfect place if you want to focus on something. It's the pretty ideal place to come and do that." Tough life, dude. (We could not be more jealous.)
  • Ives Galarcep wonders if Josh Gatt and Joe Gyau are the new Landon Donovan and DaMarcus Beasley, which he admits is more a hope and a dream than a reality. But still, wouldn't it be nice? (ASN note: Gatt looked to be walking around the team hotel with a bit of a limp Tuesday afternoon, although a U.S. Soccer spokesman told us he wasn't injured.)

  • Nick Rimando has his priorities straight:

  • And finally, to get you in the mood for the 10 a.m. Eastern kickoff, U.S. Soccer provides some highlights from a U.S.-Russia match in 1994:
