Jozy Altidore's brilliant goal wasn't enough to lift AZ Alkmaar over RKC Waalwijk on Sunday, but it certainly warmed the hearts of U.S. supporters who woke up early to watch the match.
Altidore's 24th-minute goal helped AZ Alkmaar earn a 3-3 draw with RKC Waalwijk in a Dutch Eredivisie contest, and it is one of the best American goals of 2012. Altidore brought down the pass beautifully, dribbled through a battalion of RKC defenders, and delivered a pinpoint right-footed strike that hit the side netting.
