Is Michael Bradley Really Moving to TorontoFC?

Taylor Twellman is a well-connected guy, and he just tweeted that Michael Bradley "is on the verge" of leaving AS Roma in Serie A for Major League Soccer's Toronto FC.

WE DIDN'T BELIEVE THE DEMPSEY THING at first. Neither did Eddie Johnson.

And, admit it—neither did you.

And then it happened. And then, well, the Seattle Sounders got bounced from the Major League Soccer playoffs and Clint Dempsey dropped to No. 5 on the ASN 100.

Is Michael Bradley seriously considering a return to Major League Soccer? If so, shouldn't he also be talking to Stabaek?

We've heard all of the same rumors you've heard about the coming changes at Roma and the competition Bradley is likely to face as he tries to secure playing time ahead of the 2014 World Cup. But still—it's a steep drop from one of the best teams in Serie A to one of the worst in MLS.

A short-term loan wouldn't be the end of the world, I suppose. But playing against MLS midfielders from March to May won't help MB90 prepare for what Ghana, Germany, and Portugal are going to throw at him in Brazil. Factor in the uncertainty facing Jermaine Jones at Schalke, and suddenly the center of the U.S. midfield could go from an area of strength to an area of concern.

What do you think about this? And what does Jurgen Klinsmann think about it?!?

We'll be tracking this story, for sure. In the meantime, tell us what you think of the potential move in the Comments below, and vote in the ASN Poll at americansoccernow.com.
