ON TUESDAY the United States national team learned the dates and locations for its group stage games at the 2015 Gold Cup which will take place from July 7-26 in 13 cities in North America.

The United States was drawn into Group A and will play in Frisco, Texas on July 7th at Toyota Stadium which is the home of FC Dallas. The team will then head to Foxboro, Massachusetts, for a game on July 10 at Gillette Stadium which is the home of the New England Revolution and the NFL’s New England Patriots. Group A will conclude for the U.S in Kansas on July 13 with a game at Sporting KC's Sporting Park.

So far 11 of the 12 teams in the tournament are known—with Honduras and French Guyana set to take part in a playoff series for the final spot. There are three groups of four teams in the tournament with the United States, Mexico, and Costa Rica each earning top seeds in the three groups.

There is plenty at stake in this year’s tournament for the United States, which is the defending champion after winning the tournament in 2013. If the United States wins, it would clinch a spot in the 2017 Confederations Cup in Russia. Should it lose, the winner of the 2015 Gold Cup will face the United States for the right to represent CONCACAF in the tournament.
