- The United States will play Cuba in the quarterfinal round of the Gold Cup on Saturday. The Cubans managed just a single goal in their first three matches, but it came against Guatemala and was good enough for a 1-0 victory and the three points needed to advance.
- The Americans have an easy path to the final with a semifinal looming against not-exactly-regional powers Haiti or Jamaica. They will be heavy favorites in either.
SPI odds to make #GoldCup final: #USMNT 91%, Mexico 49%, Costa Rica 29%, Panama 20%, Jamaica 8%, T&T 3%, Haiti 1%, Cuba 0.1%.

- Major League Soccer is a retirement league... and that's just fine.
- Andrew Jennings, man: Calling FIFA officials ‘sleazebags’ and ‘lowlifes,’ British journalist does not spare U.S. Soccer at Senate hearing
- Other highlights from yesterday's hearing:
Jennings blames US Soccer for not getting '22 WC. If it had blown whistle, tournament would not be in "graveyard in the Gulf." #FIFAhearing
