Things still seem to be frosty between Landon Donovan and Jurgen Klinsmann, with Donovan revealing he hasn't spoken to the coach about next Friday's friendly against Ecuador, his final U.S. appearance.

  • Landon Donovan touched on a variety of topics in an extensive interview with Grant Wahl, and it seems there’s still tension between he and Jurgen Klinsmann. “I think there was a very tangible way I could have helped that team,” Donovan said of his exclusion from the World Cup roster. “I believe in my abilities.” Donovan also says he hasn’t spoken with Klinsmann about his upcoming national team send-off game. Additionally, he hasn’t gotten an apology from Klinsmann’s son for his controversial tweet back in May.

  • U.S. Soccer accidentally posted the 20-player roster for World Cup qualifying, and promptly took it down.

  • Brian Sciaretta chatted with 17-year-old Mukwelle Akale, who appears to be on his way to Villarreal. “In Spain it is more technical," he said. "The speed of play, keeping the ball on the ground – it’s my kind of style.”
