ASN Morning Read: The Polar Bear Returns

Brad Guzan! The United States national team goalkeeper is coming home, and bringing that big, bald head of his with him. We hope, at least. Playing net without a noggin would be difficult. U.S. v Serbia.

  • Oh snap, there's a game this weekend. The Americans take on Serbia (Saturday; 4pm ET; ESPN2). Why don't you go make a Starting XI, and then learn about the opposition

  • Reinforcements/everyone gets a shot at left back:
  • How Will Jermaine Jones Fit in with Galaxy, USMNT?

  • Landon Donovan is not going to Real Salt Lake.
  • An excellent piece about Greg Garza's long, winding journey: "I have tattoos all over my body just kind of telling my story—one of them is a gypsy woman; I kind of call myself a gypsy. My wife and I really don't have a home. You have investments and homes here and there, properties and stuff like that, but you never have a place you can really call home, and that's the life of a soccer player. You get used to it."

  • LAFC has seven more supporter groups (7) than players (0). Here, the SGs talk about themselves. It's nicer than I'm making it sound.

  • Brad Guzan is coming home... eventually. He'll finish the season with Middlesbrough, then join Atlanta United. Pretty into the Brits explaining MLS policy: "The chance for Guzan to return to the USA and continue his career has presented itself in recent weeks and, recognising the opportunity for him and his family, he will depart in the summer with the best wishes of all connected with Middlesbrough Football Club. Guzan joins Atlanta on a 'multi-year contract' via Major League Soccer’s Allocation Process after discussions between the player and MFC.Courtesy of the MLS Expansion Priority Draft, Atlanta United held the No. 1 allocation ranking and exercised that spot to acquire Guzan, who was designated under the league’s 2017 Allocation Ranking List."

  • Geoff Cameron looks on the verge of returning to Stoke City.
