Jurgen Klinsmann addressed the media for the first time since the scathing Sporting News article this week. “It shows you that people care. It shows you that people question things. It shows you that maybe people get worried about, you know, we lost one game to Honduras. One out of ten in that moment. And you take that as a positive sign,” the head coach said.
U.S. Soccer named the sites for the remainder of the home qualifiers. June 11 vs. Panama in Seattle, June 18 vs. Honduras in Utah, Sept. 10 vs. Mexico in Columbus and Oct. 11 vs. Jamaica in Kansas City.
Costa Rica somehow has 14 players on a yellow card entering tonight’s match. Five of them aren’t on this roster, but it could certainly affect the way the other nine play.
Terrence Boyd and Jozy Altidore showed off the dapper new kits at last night’s pep rally:
With 28 starts this season for Aston Villa, Brad Guzan is confident ahead of tonight’s match, the team’s first since Tim Howard’s injury. "For myself, being able to make saves is important for a goalkeeper when you haven't played for a few years. It's good to be playing week in and week out,” Guzan says. With an unfamiliar back four, Geoff Cameron says it’s nice to have a guy like Guzan in goal. “I feel confident in front of him and I think with him between the posts, you’ve got to feel solid.”
Brek Shea reveals the specially-branded ball for tonight’s match:
Finally, Jermaine Jones looks menacing. ASN bookmakers have yellow card odds at 3/2 tonight:
And in case you forgot (or didn’t know), we’ve got you covered with all things Hex.
