The former United States national team defender will almost certainly not return to the Southern California club; the American coaching staff scouts in Germany; Jennifer Lawrence makes an appearance.

  • The United States is scouting John Anthony Brooks, sending assistant coaches Andi Herzog and scout Matthias Hamann to Monday's Hertha Berlin match. (The pair will also check out Alfredo Morales, although they know more about him seeing as he was just in camp for three weeks.) The real question probably isn't "Does the U.S. want Brooks?" but "Does Brooks, who was recently called to a U-20 Germany camp, want the U.S.?" He'd be a boon for the American program for sure.

  • Jonathan Bornstein will not be headed to Chivas USA, according to head man José Luis Sánchez Solá. Sad. MLS is so much more fun with Johnny B in the mix.

  • The Yanks Are Coming posts a long interview with Sacha Kljestan. A bit about his return to the national team: "It might have taken a little bit longer than I wanted, but to be honest the main goal in the end is to help the team qualify for the World Cup and in the end being on that plane down to Brazil. So, I don’t hold any hard feelings that it took longer than I wanted to be in the national team. All that matters now is that the last few games I’ve had an important role off the bench, and that I’m still working hopefully towards a starting spot at some point."

  • Every touch for Brek Shea in his Stoke City debut? Sure, why not?
