- Sacha Kljestan replaces the injured John Brooks on the U.S. roster. Kljestan's last cap was in March 2014.
- Red Bulls manager Jesse Marsch had been lobbying for Kljestan to be called up since last summer, and now says Kljestan deserves minutes: "I think he earned a call-up and I think he earned an opportunity to get a chance to contribute. If Jurgen really wants to evaluate him, I think it’d have to be in a game.”
