  • Todd Dunivant, a man who spent most of his career out of the spotlight so others could shine, announces that he'll retire at the end of the season.

  • Gedion Zelalem earned two assists in his debut for Rangers, a 5-0 thrashing of Airdrieonians in the Scottish League Cup. The second one really streteches the definion of assist, more like pass the ball to a dude and watch him dribble through a bunch of defenders, but we'll take it:
  • We are fully in support of trick plays here at ASN but this one the Red Bulls used is definitely illegal (although so close to being fine).

  • MLS Cup odds. You're welcome:
  • The 2016 Copa America will go on, probably, but it won't be in the United States, maybe.

  • "Platini has been positioning himself as a reformer, but how can that be?" Nakhid said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. "Those who are vying for the post should be scrutinized and looked at," Nakhid added. "How can someone claim to be free or not tainted when he has been part of the circle that has basically brought football down a sorry path?" Platini, who has not been implicated in the FIFA scandals, helped Blatter make the step up from secretary general to president in the 1998 election.
