Today our correspondent in Sarajevo, Graham Ruthven (see photo above), was profiled on the Bosnian news site Klix. He riled up a few people with this story about getting lost in Sarajevo, but it seems like everything is fine now. P.S. Graham is loving the city—really!
Facts and stats. Everyone loves facts and stats. Here's one: "Six players participated in the combined U-20/U-23 MNT camp in November of 2011 in Duisburg coached by Tab Ramos: Terrence Boyd, John Brooks, Corona, Cody Cropper, Diskerud and Bobby Wood."

Aron Johannsson got last-minute approval for his one-time transfer, so the forward will be eligible to play. He's looking forward to joining the American squad. “I am super excited! Especially to play for such a big country and for a country that is fighting for titles," he said during a Q&A with USSoccer.com. "The U.S. makes it to the World Cup every single time and there’s a lot of up and coming talent in the U.S. and they’re getting bigger and better by every moment, by every game. I hope to be a part of that and to also be part of a team that does even more than what they’ve been doing over the past few years.” We also learned that his nickname is Aron Bacon because of his resemblance to Kevin Bacon. We still prefer ArJo.
Here's a case that the friendly is one of the last times for American players to prove themselves: "The only time head coach Jurgen Klinsmann really has to try things out, to blood new players without heaping the burdens of high stakes on them, to see what alternatives he has, is now." That's a little overstating the case, but we'll concede the premise.
Deadspin scores a nice excerpt from Howler's upcoming issue, posting a story about Michael Bradley. The writer, Luke O'Brien, travels to Italy to visit with the midfielder at Roma. He comes away convinced Bradley is the most important player on the American team, which is something we've been saying for years now. Better late than never, perhaps.
