  • Altidore Shows Frustration After Qualifying Letdown

  • The best American players 20 and under? We'll bite.

  • New MLS Rookie of the Year Julian Gressel was not one of them. (Because he's German. Also, because he's 23.)

  • The majority of the players called in to the United States men’s national team’s training camp here this week were not in Trinidad and Tobago last month when the squad endured a humiliating end to its World Cup qualifying campaign.  A few of them weren’t even awake.  "I was in bed and woke up in the middle of the night to a bunch of texts," said defender Matt Miazga, who plays his club soccer in the Netherlands. "I watched the highlights in the morning. It was shocking."

  • Los Angeles FC is on the verge of signing Penarol striker Diego Rossi Marachlian, sources have confirmed to ESPN FC.  Uruguayan outlet Referi was the first to report the news.  A source cautioned that a contract has not been signed as of yet, but that LAFC had agreed to pay a transfer fee of around $3 million in order to acquire the Uruguayan youth international.

  • Precourt's threat is based on the claim that the "business is struggling." On the surface, he has a point. The Crew rank near the bottom of MLS in average attendance. However, that’s not the whole story. By gathering information obtained from records requests and other publicly available resources, we were able to piece together a picture of the Crew's costs and revenue. Struggling they are not.  Rather, Precourt's claim looks like posturing in hopes of obtaining a sweeter stadium deal.
