Mix Diskerud scored on a fantastic chip in the second leg of Europa League qualifying, finishing off Jelgava (Latvia) 6-0 on aggregate. Rosenborg takes on Sligo Rovers in the third round of qualifying next Thursday.
Birmingham City says Will Packwood was called into the U.S. U-23 squad for a friendly against the Bahamas senior team on Aug. 6 in Nassau. Hopefully we hear more about that game soon.
Sunderland manager Gus Poyet is confident Jozy Altidore will be ready for preseason training soon. “We know hamstring injuries are tricky and that you have to be careful not to come back too quickly. Jozy deserves his holidays now."
