  • Jurgen Klinsmann, being Jurgen Klinsmann, made some comments in which he called out Major League Soccer for something or other. MLS Commissioner Don Garber responded with a conference call. There is plenty of juice, but this part was our favorite: "I believe that Landon should have been in Brazil, not because he earned it or deserved it, but because his performance dictated it, and if anybody disagrees with that ... then I believe his treatment was inexcusable. And I have concerns that his criticism, particularly of Michael, is following that same pattern. If Jurgen wants to talk to Michael about what he believes is in the best interests of his career, go ahead and do that, but don't use a global media platform to do that."

  • ASN's Brooke Tunstall has a strong take. Check it out.

  • Steven Goff has a nice breakdown of what Garber got right and what he got wrong during his diatribe. How do you think he felt about this one: “When we have a national team coach who in essence is telling players that when they sign with our league that it is not going to be good for their career and frankly not going to be perceived well by the national team coach is incredibly damaging to our league.”

  • Bonus points to Graham Parker for seeing this bubble up before it happened.

  • Let's talk about something else. Brian Sciaretta goes deep on the October friendlies. He wasn't impressed: "When Jurgen Klinsmann made changes to his roster following the Ecuador game, he brought in players that comprised most of the core of the 2014 World Cup. It proved to be a mistake. This same group of players recently competed in a major tournament against some of the best teams in the world. Their limitations were exposed."

  • We'd show highlights of the U.S. women's team's 1-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago to start the CONCACAF Championship but:
