Deep Run for the USA
Three and Out
I Love This Prelim Roster Klinsmann Picked the Wrong Players
We shall bone the competition...hard! — Ted "Theodore" Logan
I will buy it when it comes to shops — PROING PROING PROING
All The Way! — Beto
USMNT will make it to the quarters. This team is actually good. — myownbobblehead
YOU KNOW IT — DJ DASH
SHAKALAKA — BOOOOM
Good roster, I think we've actually got some chances this time. Where's Brek Shea though? — Arnold
stop bringin up that self-centered bumm EJ... — CP
must play disciplined to advance from G — Hobbs Gray
maybe... — idk
speed, versatility, players adapted to the heat and humidity... and hopefully great team chemistry... could be best WC performance in 20 years! — howie
I love the roster in the sense that from these 30 guys, I think we can make the best 23 man roster possible (excluding injuries). This is the deepest player pool we've ever had and I'm confident that we can atleast show well. 2 of the toughest teams in the tournament are in our group, so if we make it out of the group we have an excellent shot of getting into the final 8 or even 4. — Charlie
If we get out of the groups we will win third (wont win it all this year). But we have to get out of the groups first. — Obama
The only real snub was Eddie Johnson, but I don't think he needed to be on the roster with all the talent. If we don't make it out of the group, it will be entirely the fault of the group to be honest. If we do make it out, we won't be seeing Germany in the first knockout round. I'm knocking on wood as I say this, but if we make it out of the group we could be looking at quarters or even semis... The semis part was a bit much wasn't it? — Andy Osterling
not enough world class players, but that's to be expected. SUCH a tough group. But, if they play well and capitalize on any mistakes, could get to knockout. — jordi
I feel good about things. — Tanya Harding
I'm ready to go to work if you need me in a pinch! — Jeff Gillooly
Ream would have given us more quality. — Chris
NO KLESTJAN!!!! — targheehucker
quaters — Chuck
Great mix of young exciting talent, with veterans to provide leadership. So happy Wondo finally got picked, better be going to Brazil though! — Brooks Roenisch
If our offense clicks and our defense plays well I think we could surprise the world. — Geoff
Conflicted about Chandler. His talent is hard to deny if he is healthy and in form but I'm not convinced he's earned the chance to carry the crest. I'll assume his long absence was all for legit reasons. Otherwise I like the roster. — wandmdave
We could surprise people if our defense is solid — Tony
Really like the roster, Chandler and Green have a chance to prove it in camp. Open competition across the backline. However, improved though the pool is, it'll take perfect performances and some luck to get out of the group. If we do, a beatable Belgium or Russia may await. — Braden
Roster is a nice combination of role players to fill needs and some guys that could be wild cards and deliver some impact moments. — KB
Everything is set against the US heading into the WC: the Group of Death, traveling 9,000 miles for the group stage, going against Germany and Ghana with those story lines. Call it a gut feeling or intuition, but I feel confident the Yanks will have a strong showing in this Cup. Klinsmann, with his recent criticisms, really reminds me of how Tom Coughlin was criticized by the fans, media, players before winning the Super Bowl later that year. I'm entirely intrigued to see how this plays out. — Billy H
The announcement of the 30-man preliminary roster doesn't change anything about how we'll do in the World Cup.... I don't get it?? — KXRTI
No idea how things will go, but isn't that why it's fun? — Alex
I think its really tough to know we will get out of this group regardless of which players we put out there. I do think its possible but that Ghana game will most likely either close or open our chances to getting out. That is a must win. Roster looks good to me but still concerns of the backline and specifically CB. Formations we will use will be intriguing to see. — Adrian
The Julian Green and T. Chandler inclusions rankle, but otherwise pretty sound picks. Still, it's a tough ask to get out of this crazy good group. — Xose
They would rankle you. Because you don't want to win. — Haterade for XOSE
Why the hell is Yedlin in the camp? Rightbacks should should learn to defend before they get a USA callup. Just because the media loves him and he plays for seatle, doesn't mean he is that great. — Ben
^^^Idiot^^^ — Xose
Really like the roster, but escaping the group still looks pretty unlikely — Mark
A few minor quibbles but this roster is pretty close to the best we can do. Will it be good enough in Brazil? Probably not. That back line is still a mess and will be our undoing. — Brian
Hoping for better, and will believe come kickoff, but tough, tough group. — Cmon Boys
Absolutely the right guys. Side is infinitely better than 2010, but that group though... Portugal is vulnerable if we can keep CR7 in check. Need 3 vs Ghana badly. — Adam
Ream for Brooks, maybe not Corona, but a good roster overall. I still think we have a less than 50% chance of escaping the group, and barring someone Tanya Hardinging CR's leg, it will stay that way. — JW
trolololo — troll
this person should have citizenship revoked and be forced to watch the entire World Cup without a single drink. — <---Hater
