Will play an ambitious, aggressive game
Will bunker and play for counterattacks
The U.S. will win it all Three losses in group stage
YES WE CAN. USA USA USA USA USA! — nAVEED
Give us the trophy now, Blatter! — GFOPs unite
I dont like a foreigner at the helm of our national team but Klinnman knows that our only shot at success is to be aggressive...no matter who we're drawn with! — Erik
We bunkered in the days of Bruce and Bradley, no more under JK. USA gets a lucky draw, tries to play European style soccer, makes it to the rnd of 16. Pray we don't catch Ghana. — @Myownbobblehead
Klinsman will push the boys to play an uptempo attacking game. — Andy
If Jurgen does not wake up of his Germerican fail experiment we will be eliminated on the first round and our media will blame our player pool — Fernando Sanchez
USA has more weapons and tactics....they should perform better than they did in 2010.USA all the way!!! — Ian
The USA will win! — Commander Cobra
Quarterfinals? Probably just the round of 16. — Alex
Let's get it stars and stripes! — ronnie t
We'll continue to impose our style on games. We'll get pushback, of course, once we're out of group and into the elimination round. Minimum goal: get out of group with little fuss; we could win our group unless we're in with a top-4 seed. Reasonable goal: win our round of 16 game. Best-possible scenario: advance to semis. If we're in the Group of Death, we'll be one of the reasons why it's the Group of Death. — John R
A lot depends on the draw. A reasonably draw will see us through to the round of 16 and I think to the round of 8. All depends on injuries and the draw. Fingers crossed. GO USA & JK — SoCal Soccer Mom
Yup — Merica
Hopefully they will play an aggressive possession style game and depending on the draw will make it out of the first round. Most important is that we display a level of technical competence that raises the wway the top countries look at us. How we win is critical! — Jim Froehlich
USA — Charlie
Depending on the draw, who knows if we'll make it out of group stages. — LC
US continues to develop into a team than can dictate play as it advances past group play again. The US is one of the top 10-15 teams and even an unfavorable group shouldn't stop them. It is all about who you draw once you get to the knockout stage. Draw Brasil in the round of 16 and it's over for the US. Draw Russia or England and the US probably advances. — Pwyll
I think we'll play tactically aggressive. — Jarad S
US will play a better game than they have in past WC. I think we have a chance (not a big one, but a legitimate one) to win. My expectation is quarterfinals, and I don't think semis are completely out of the question. Nice having 'expectations' rather than 'hopes' for once. — James
My ball sweat. — poo-poo pee-pee
I have giant purple, hairy, vainy dick...With chicken skin over the scrotal sack. — aih fha fah h sih a
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I got nothing — Hmmm
I can see the USA coming out in the group stage and playing aggressive attacking style soccer, and really trying to bring it to the bigger teams in their groups. I think the USA will really bring their A game if they have a couple of really good teams in their group. Even if the USA has a mediocre group I see us playing attacking style. Either way I think Jurgen gets us out of the group and turns some heads along the way. — CRay78
Semi Final — God
Pamela Anderson has a large Vagina. — ahs fih
We will do our best guys. — Jozy Altidore.
round of 8 elimination by a semifinalist. — wes
We'll keep our aggressive style, but we just have too many questions in defense to make a really deep run. Of course, nothing would make me happier than being proved wrong next summer... — Sean
duh — k
I think quarter finals is pretty reasonable for this group. — Drew
Me thinks the Merica can beat all these soccer diddly hoo plah with big old sham lam doobily diddly ding dong. — Merica
yeeeee — skeeter
This seemed about right. — BDM
The U.S. has shown that against most teams, even some traditional powers, it prefers to play open, attacking football. That will be how the U.S. plays next summer. I think it will do well. So much depends on the draw for the group stage, but I truly believe the U.S. is among the top 16 teams in the world and will play like it - reaching at least the beginning of the knockout round. — Gotham Gator
ew — re
here's your consensus. round of 16 (unless we get a group of death), aggressive against most opponents most of the time. — hey
Boop. — Michael
We can beat anyone on any given day. This team has more tools to score goals and a killer instict when comparing it to the 2010 team — Ezra Hein
We can beat any team in the World. — Ryan in NY by way of NC
Best team in CONCACAF again, but they need the draw gods to come through like in 2010 in order to go deep. — @CZeroMusic
We'll be rooting for other teams to win, lose, tie, or any other situation other than us controlling our own destiny. — Mike
Klinsmann's philosophy is to play attractive, attacking football, and he will certainly try to display that on the world stage. We have the talent to play that style as well. Getting out of the group stage is a must, and any win after that is a bonus. — Alex
I think we'll be able to take it to weaker teams, go toe-to-toe with the middle of the pack, and play good ol' American defend-like-hell-and-try-to-steal-a-goal-on-the-counter against the powerhouses. As usual, anything less than round of 16 will be a disappointment, anything more will be a bonus. Let's reevaluate after the draw. — Alex
With the tougher opponents, the U.S. will have less possession and will be forced to play counterattacks. They will however, attempt to build through MB90. — AJ
There can be only one — Connor MacLeod
Totally depends upon the draw. If the US is in a Group of Death, will bunker like crazy to get out of the group. But I see them with a reasonable draw, they play reasonably aggressive, and get out of the group. For me success would be getting to that 5th game. — Mike
hippo tits! — bdeyes
We will be okay — Tom
I wouldn't say it's impossible for us to win it all, just very unlikely. — Matt
Depends on the group and the state of the teams health going into the WC. If we are 100% I believe that we can have a very productive WC. — Red
wont necessarily be overly aggressive, but has the moxie to get some results. wouldn't be shocked with getting to quarterfinal depending on knockout opponents. — targheehucker
Quarterfinals. — SRM
I think the USMNT will play attacking soccer against lower ranked teams and play counter against the bigger ones. I also think Johnson and Cameron should be starting fullbacks — akhbfbasbauu
What can I say? I'm a pessimist by nature. — Xose
Don't worry, we'll shut down the government again next year! ;) — Obama
Tactics will change depending on our opponent. As much as Klinsi wants us to be the aggressor every game, it's just not possible yet against the monsters of Europe. — Dan
The US will play attractive when possible, and pragmatic when needed. Overall, the US will continue to play with a variety of styles just as they have throughout the Klinsmann run up to the World Cup. These boys have proven they can adapt to a wide view of the game. Klinsmann has shown the willingness to throw players forward when needed to get results, and the ability to sit on points when they've got them. — Bill Anderson
I think how they'll play will depend on the opponent. I predict the US will make it to QF if their group is not too strong. — Piaggio
Optimistic about our chances to show well. Then again, I was also optimistic in '06 — Christopher
If I had more confidence in our fulbacks i would be so much happier. I still can't trust Brad Evans and Beasly at fulback. Cameron would give me so much more confidence. — Ben
Same as the gentlemen said in the above spot. — Gunnerstahl
Aggressive against weaker teams, pragmatic once/if they get out of group. Likely eliminated in 2nd round, though maybe quarterfinal is possible pending the draw — Mike
It all depends on the draw. But assuming an average one I'd say we'll be playing more proactively than we ever have before in the WC but far from how we played in the Gold Cup. I think making out of an average to strong group would be a mark of progress and think we can achieve it as long as injuries and poor form don't strike. — wandmdave
Three and out more likely than winning it all, of course, but advancing will depend on the draw. As will the tactics. — Adam
A loss in the first match will cause Klinsi to pull back. A win and he may say they have the mojo to attack. — JoKlu
Klinsmann will bring "safe" and experienced players designed to get him an extention on his employment contract which expires just after the wc. — Excellency
will win — terrance
Make it out of group stage...barely, and lose in round of 16. — JMart
something like this — agent j
Depends on the draw. The US should be able to get out of most any group that is thrown at them (though Uruguay, Netherlands, and Cote d'Ivoire is a scary possibility), getting to the quarterfinals and beyond will depend on matchups. — Chad Gambone
Facing reality, we play to get results, make it out of group as 2nd place finisher, lose to Germany in round of 16. — Mike7591
I have the power!!!!!!!!!!! — He-Man
Jurgen's no fool. He will play pragmatically as dictated by situations and we'll probably get into the playoff rounds. — KXRTI
Wait the USA has a Football team? When did this happen? — The World
Expected result: Round of 16 Above average: Quarters or better Below average: Don't leave group stage Play style: I think against weaker teams we now have the experience and ability to control the style of play, and will play aggressively. Against stronger opponents, we'll revert to more traditional USMNT tactics and try to counter. I have use on the low side because I expect us to make the quarters, but we'll play mostly a counterattacking style to get us there. — RohnJobinson
Results are way too hard to predict before the draw, but US should expect to at least get out of the group. And Klinsi has learned by now that his team is better against top competition playing at least semi-conservatively. — JB
I'm guessing we get out of the group and maybe make the quarterfinals. It depends a lot on the draw and a little on luck, but I like our chances in most groups. As for style - see the games against European opposition. — JW
Out of group stage, but will play bunkerball sadly — Jordan
We are not good enough to play aggressively against the real big teams. However, this is a very talented, very strong on the counter attack side that I believe will be able to deliver enough to make it out of the group stage. — MUUUUULLLEERR
I'm fat — Ives
Where am i? — Giant cock
